Michigan to get a Temporary American Girl Store in Novi
For the followers of my blog, you know we’re a bit of an American Girl obsessed family (just read through our old posts, the AG book club, and about identifying dolls, our AG photo booth, and more!) And now, we’re super happy to see that Novi’s 12 Oaks Mall is getting a 6,000 foot American Girl store. This American Girl Novi store is only temporary, but it is better than driving to Chicago or to Columbus, OH to get your American Girl fix.

American Girl in Michigan
American Girl will be located near Nordstrom on the Upper Level beginning August 6. They will leave Novi January 31, 2017. This is a perfect opportunity to save your American Girl coupons. However, if you are in Michigan and want to order online, do so ASAP so you can avoid paying sales tax from the online store. Once the store in Michigan opens, law requires AG to collect sales tax from Michigan online orders!
This will not be a full-fledged AG experience. There will be hair styling, but no repairs.
Services available for your doll include:
- Choose doll hairdos,
- ear piercing,
- pampering services and more.
The salon is open during regular store hours and prices range for $5-25. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.

American Girl Novi Grand Opening
In order to ensure the enjoyment and safety of our customers, tickets are required for entry into the store during grand-opening weekend. If we reach capacity for the day, no more entrance tickets will be distributed.
Beginning one hour before store opening on Saturday and Sunday, American Girl will distribute entrance tickets for that day. Entrance tickets can be obtained near the store entrance and are valid only on the day they’re issued.
Each child that visits American Girl will receive a complimentary gift, while supplies last.
American Girl will be hosting a craft, while supplies last.
American Girl Giveaway
American Girl will be hosting a drawing for a free Lea Clark Girl of the Year doll and book. There will be one giveaway on Saturday and one giveaway on Sunday.
